We have fantastic news! Your artistic talents and generous hearts have helped us raise a phenomenal £300 for the donkey sanctuary! To celebrate, founder Kelly and our Operations Manager, Wendy, visited the Donkey Sanctuary in Buxton to personally deliver the funds and a special gift.
What a wonderful Sunday it was! We put down our paint brushes and laptops at Cocktails to visit the Donkey Sanctuary. The journey through the hills and into the Peak District was beautiful, though it was heartbreaking to see the aftermath of the moors fire near the Cat & Fiddle.
For those who may not know, for every “Daphne” ticket sold, we donate £1 to the amazing Donkey Sanctuary in Derbyshire. This wonderful organisation is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming donkeys, and we are proud to support their vital work.
Met with the Sanctuary’s manager and they were super grateful for the donation. We also gave them a painting of Daphne, hopefully they’ll find a good spot for it.
Visiting the Sanctuary and seeing the beautiful donkeys in their care was a heartwarming experience. Witnessing their safe and loving home and getting close to these gentle creatures was fantastic. Among them, one donkey with a soft grey coat and kind eyes strikingly resembled our imagined Daphne. It felt like a little nod of approval from the real-life donkey world!
The good news continues! We’re committed to continuing our fundraising efforts for the Donkey Sanctuary throughout the year. So, keep your brushes ready because we have plenty more “Daphne Donkey” sessions, keep an eye on our social media and website for upcoming dates, and let’s see how much more we can raise together.
